Btrieve-level Troubleshooting for PSQL/Zen

When it comes to Btrieve troubleshooting, nothing can beat lots and lots of experience. Goldstar Software has that experience. We have been writing Btrieve based applications since 1991. This solid understanding of how the Btrieve application developer thinks allows us to better troubleshoot existing applications. We also have a thorough understanding of the inner workings of the Btrieve database, and how other modules (i.e. SQL, the ODBC drivers, etc.) work with the engine.

The nice thing about Btrieve troubleshooting, of course, is that all applications look the same over to Btrieve! A client/server application for airline flight calculations may process data differently from a client/server application for a small business accounting package, but when it comes to the Btrieve level, all applications share the same interface. This means that knowledge specific to the application itself is usually not required, making our lives much easier.

This fact also makes it possible to quickly identify the source of the problem, whether it be the file server, the database engine, the network, the workstation, the workstation OS, the application, or the end user.

We can also help to repair corrupted database files, and use the corrupted file information to attempt to isolate the cause of the failure.
